 | Your homeowner orientation is an introduction to your new home and its many features. We follow a preplanned agenda and a set route through the home to assure that we cover everything. Our homeowner orientation provides you with a: • Demonstration of your new home. • Review of key points about maintenance and limited warranty coverage. • Note any items needing further attention. Some other items you need to know about this important part of purchasing your home. |
Schedule
Touchstone Homes sets orientation appointments Monday through Friday, between 8:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.. These meetings take approximately 2-3 hours.
Last Minute Activity
If you visit your home a day or two prior to orientation, you may notice dozens of details that need attention. During the last few days just prior to your orientation appointment, many trades people and Touchstone Homes employees will be working in your home. They are completing last-minute adjustments and fine-tuning your home. These finishing touches cannot be performed until all of the parts have been installed. What seems like a rush of activity is a normal part of the construction process.
Preparation
There are several things you can do to be prepared and to get the most out of your orientation meeting. These include:
• Allow enough time in your schedule for a full orientation
• Attend alone if possible
• Bring any questions you might have about your new home
• Wear shoes convenient to take off and put back on
Homeowners Orientation Signoff
At the time of your orientation we will schedule the orientation signoff meeting. Typically this will be scheduled for the day before or the day of closing. While we repair any items identified on your orientation, you can expect to see a mess if you come back to the home. Do not be alarmed! We will have a professional cleaning crew come back through immediately prior to the orientation signoff to clean up. We will go over all the items noted on the list to make sure they have been completed. We will complete most if not all items before your move-in. If any items are not completed before closing we will move those items to a Closing Service Request form. We will then have you sign that the orientation list is complete minus those items.
